"RUAHA SAFARI RESORT"

FABRIC has been chosen via contest to design the initial phase for an exclusive immersive safari resort in the Ruaha National Park in Tanzania. The project comprises of a clubhouse involving common areas such as the reception area, fine dining restaurant, and pool area, in addition to two different typologies of accomodation, individual suites and a villa.The design takes cues from two sources of inspiration; the local architecture and its surrounding nature. The clubhouse and the villa follow the everchanging forms of the Ruaha River which they overlook; while the single and double suites are a reinterpretation of traditional Tanzanian clay houses in a spiral shape.The common areas are devised as semiopen spaces, with 360 degree views over the surrounding nature and river.
